Job summary

Talent X, a boutique property, commercial and wills & estates firm in Bondi Junction, is seeking a Senior Associate. You’ll work directly with the Managing Partner on a broad, fast-paced caseload and own your matters from instruction to completion.

You’ll handle residential and commercial conveyancing, leasing, share deals, restructures and general commercial advice, with a target of around 6 hours billable per day. Full-time, office-based.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years PQE in property/commercial law.
• Current NSW practising certificate or eligibility.
• Experience handling multiple complex files end to end.

Senior Associate | Property & Commercial Law

You’re alawyer with at least 5 years PQE. You love the deal side of law. You don’t coast. You want the next level, and you want it now.

You’re autonomous. Give you a matter and you’ll run it from instruction to completion. No hand holding. No chasing. You’d rather be trusted and accountable.

You’re seriously organised. Your files are tidy, your emails are filed and your version control is spot on. You’ve worked in LEAP or Smokeball and you don’t need a secretary to keep you on track.

You’ve run your own files. You’ve handled sales, leases and share deals. You’ve built real trust with clients. But you’re ready for more.

This is a Senior Associate role with a boutique property, commercial and wills & estates firm in Bondi Junction. You’ll work directly with the Managing Partner. He’s young, energetic and very capable, and he’s ready to hand real matters to the right person.

The work is broad and fast paced:

• Residential and commercial conveyancing


• Retail and commercial leasing


• General property


• Share sales and purchases, restructures, dissolutions, corporate governance and general commercial advice


• Agreements and commercial disputes

There are dozens of property and commercial matters live at any time. You’ll move through at least 10 matters a week. You’ll need to multitask and keep your head while you do it.

Your clients here are sophisticated. Think high net worth individuals, family offices, SMEs and corporates, many with multiple entities. You’ll also work with real estate agencies selling apartments, accountants and financial brokers. You will never be bored.

You won’t sit in the background here. You’ll own your matters. You’ll build your own client relationships. You’ll mentor a junior lawyer, with junior lawyers and support staff behind you.

The expectations are clear. Standard billable targets, around 6 hours a day. If you’re the kind of person who likes a clear scoreboard, you’ll like it here.

The office is right next to Bondi Junction station, with ocean views. It’s an open plan team of 11 plus, and a friendly one. The role is full-time, permanent, 8:30 to 5:30, 5 days a week in the office.

What you’ll need:

• A current NSW practising certificate


• Solid property and commercial experience in Australia


• Litigation and wills & estates experience is highly regarded, but not essential


• Smokeball or LEAP experience is a big plus
