Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate in the Performance Improvement Practice to deliver rapid bottom‑line improvement across multiple engagements. You will conduct structured research, build robust financial and operational models, and produce high‑quality client deliverables to inform decisions.

You will support business development, contribute to thought leadership, and collaborate across teams to drive value for clients and growth for the firm.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in a consulting or professional services environment with at least one promotion.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitatively focused discipline with strong academic performance.
• Strong analytical capabilities with logical, structured thinking and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to extract meaningful insights from large, incomplete, or unstructured data sets.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels—from operational teams to senior executives.
• Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork skills with a results‑oriented, entrepreneurial mindset.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive research and analysis: Execute structured research and data analysis using primary and secondary sources to identify key themes, trends, and insights aligned to project hypotheses and client objectives.
• Developing financial models: Build and review detailed financial and operational models, applying robust quality assurance controls to ensure accuracy, reliability, and insightful outputs that support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Producing high‑quality client deliverables: Synthesize complex analyses into clear, concise, and compelling presentations, reports, and other client materials that effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Supporting business development: Contribute to proposals, thought leadership, and industry or company analyses by identifying client needs, helping shape tailored solutions, and articulating A&M’s value proposition.
• Collaborating across teams: Build strong working relationships within the Performance Improvement practice and across A&M, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
