Lead Group is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Sydney CBD Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. You will take ownership of a varied commercial and civil litigation caseload, advising on contractual and Australian Consumer Law matters, and working with Partners and experts on dispute strategy.

The role offers autonomy in managing matters from advice to resolution, with opportunities to mentor juniors and contribute to business development in a dynamic practice.

Qualifications

• At least five years’ post-admission experience in commercial or civil litigation.
• Current NSW practising certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong drafting skills and sound knowledge of court practice and procedure.
• Ability to independently manage matters, deadlines and client expectations.
• Practical commercial judgment and confident communication and negotiation skills.

Responsabilités

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice in Sydney CBD.

This opportunity offers a broad mix of commercial and civil disputes, with a particular focus on contractual claims and Australian Consumer Law matters involving motor vehicles. You will manage matters from initial advice through to resolution, combining hands‑on litigation with practical, commercially focused advice.

The role

• Manage litigation matters with autonomy, working closely with supervising Partners on key strategic decisions.
• Advise clients on prospects, risk, evidence, settlement options and dispute strategy.
• Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, advice and settlement documents.
• Manage discovery, subpoenas and expert evidence, and prepare briefs to counsel.
• Attend hearings, mediations and conferences, appearing where appropriate.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to mentoring junior lawyers and developing the practice.

About you

You will bring at least five years’ post-admission experience in commercial or civil litigation, including contractual disputes and Australian Consumer Law claims.

You will also have:

• A current NSW practising certificate, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Strong drafting skills and sound knowledge of court practice and procedure.
• The ability to independently manage matters, deadlines and client expectations.
• Practical commercial judgement and confident communication and negotiation skills.
• A collaborative approach to working with Partners, colleagues, counsel and clients.

Experience in advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, mentoring or business development will be highly regarded.
