Job summary

Senior/Associate Fire Protection Engineer opportunity in Sydney with a leading Building Services Design Consultancy. You will lead fire protection design on diverse projects, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers to develop their skills.

The role requires 7+ years in fire protection/building services design, a degree in related engineering, and Chartered (CPEng) or active progress toward it. A strong client liaison and leadership capability is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in fire protection/building services design.
• Degree qualification in Fire Engineering, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or similar).
• Chartered (CPEng) or working towards is highly regarded.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection design from concept to completion, including sprinkler systems, hydrants, smoke control, and fire strategy.
• Coordinate with architects, builders, and other engineering disciplines to deliver compliant, sustainable solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop their skills.
• Ensure all designs meet relevant Australian standards, codes, and regulations.
