Job summary

Clayton Utz's Environment & Sustainable Development team in Sydney is seeking a talented senior lawyer to join our Band-1 practice. You will work on a diverse range of environment, planning and sustainability matters, including major projects and advisory work for government and corporate clients.

You will lead as a senior associate, collaborating with top partners and peers, with strong opportunities for client secondments and career progression within a renowned national firm.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years PQE gained within a reputable commercial law firm, with demonstrated time spent in a senior associate capacity.
• Excellent academic results.
• Well-rounded experience in a reputable environment and planning practice, with exposure across transactional, advisory and litigious P&E matters.
• Refined drafting skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with clients, consultants, counsel and peers.
• Proactive commitment to continuous professional development and mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead senior associate on environment and planning matters across transactional, advisory and litigious work.
• Advise and represent public and private sector clients, including government agencies and large corporations.
• Mentor and guide junior team members to develop skills and client service.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development within the practice.
