Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a skilled AI practitioner to join the AI Solutions team in Global Markets. You will develop AI-powered solutions for forecasting, pricing and risk management, combining software engineering, data science and business knowledge to drive measurable outcomes.

You'll work with data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to take AI use cases from concept through production while continually refining and deploying enhancements across enterprise-scale cloud

Qualifications

• Experience in AI/ML development for enterprise-scale production
• Strong Python programming with testing and version control practices
• Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms (AWS/Azure) in an enterprise context
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes

You'll combine software engineering, data science and business knowledge to help turn strong AI adoption into measurable commercial outcomes while working on some of the organisation's most advanced AI initiatives.

You’ll join a team responsible for AI solutions across Institutional Banking & Markets and the development of quantitative applications and analytics across Global Markets. Working closely with data scientists, engineers, business stakeholders and industry partners, you’ll help take AI use cases from concept through to production.

• Deliver AI and machine learning solutions focused on forecasting, pricing and risk management challenges within Global Markets.

• Build agentic and generative AI applications using modern frameworks and enterprise AI platforms.

• Partner directly with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and refine AI use cases.
• Contribute to testing, model validation, deployment, monitoring and governance practices.
• Apply emerging AI capabilities in a commercially focused environment where innovation and impact are equally important.
• Continuously develop your expertise in both AI and financial markets.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

• Have professional experience ideally within AI, machine learning, quantitative analytics or a related technical field.
• Demonstrate strong Python programming skills supported by testing and version control practices.
• Have experience building generative AI or agentic AI solutions and can articulate the technical decisions behind them.
• Have hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms such as AWS or Azure within an enterprise environment.
• Are curious, adaptable and capable of quickly applying new AI capabilities to practical business problems.
• Can translate technical concepts into meaningful outcomes for business stakeholders.
• Have an interest in financial markets and are motivated to develop deeper knowledge of forecasting, pricing and risk management.
• Hold a degree in quantitative finance, actuarial studies, mathematics, engineering, data science, computer science or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
