Legal People in Melbourne is seeking an Associate/Senior Associate (3–7 years’ PAE) to join its market-leading Commercial Disputes team. You will work closely with respected Partners, shaping litigation strategy, independently managing matters and mentoring junior lawyers in a high-stakes, private-practice environment.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years’ PAE in commercial litigation gained in private practice.
• Strong litigation and case management experience across varied disputes.
• Excellent legal, forensic and evidentiary skills.
• The ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
• Commercial acumen, business development capability and a client-focused approach.
• Experience conducting litigation in the Commercial Court of the Supreme Court of Victoria will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent clients across a broad range of commercial disputes and contentious matters.
• Contribute to litigation strategy, independently manage and progress matters, and supervise and mentor junior lawyers.
• Handle complex, large-scale disputes that involve reputational risk.
