Job summary

ERM CVS in Australia seeks a Certification Lead Assessor to lead accredited certification, assurance, and verification activities across the APAC region. This role sits at the intersection of sustainability, mining, and operational excellence, partnering with global clients to drive meaningful impact.

You will manage complex certification engagements, conduct assessments against ISO standards and responsible mining schemes, mentor audit teams, and contribute to continuous improvement of ERM CVS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality, Human Rights, Sociology, Anthropology, Mining, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in management systems implementation, assessment, auditing, or operational environments.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in at least two standards: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17021 and ISO 17029.
  • Strong report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established timelines.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead third-party certification, assurance, and verification audits across environmental, health & safety, quality, energy, and responsible mining standards.
  • Conduct assessments against frameworks including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, ISO 9001, IRMA, Copper Mark, ICMM Mining Principles, and ASI requirements.
  • Develop audit plans, conduct field assessments, evaluate findings, and determine assessment conclusions.
  • Produce clear, concise, and high-quality audit reports in accordance with ERM CVS procedures and accreditation requirements.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and improvement areas for clients across diverse operating environments.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ERM CVS methodologies, competencies, and assurance processes.
  • Share technical expertise and mentor colleagues across the global assurance network.
  • Support business growth by identifying client opportunities and collaborating with ERM CVS Partners and business leaders.
  • Represent ERM CVS with professionalism, integrity, and technical excellence throughout audit engagements.

Certification Lead Assessor (Responsible Mining & ESG Assurance) | Australia ERM Certification and Verification Services (CVS) is seeking a highly experienced Certification Lead Assessor to lead accredited certification, assurance, and verification activities across the Asia-Pacific region.

What You'll Bring:
  • Required Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Human Rights, Sociology, Anthropology, Mining, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in management systems implementation, assessment, auditing, or operational environments.
  • Lead Auditor qualification in at least two or more of the following standards: ISO 9001 ISO 14001 ISO 22301 ISO 27001 ISO 45001 ISO 50001 Practical experience conducting certification, verification, assurance, or compliance assessments.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 17021 and ISO 17029.
  • Strong report writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outcomes within established timelines.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience within Mining & Minerals, including knowledge of: IRMA, Copper Mark, ICMM Mining Principles, Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI). Experience within one or more of the following sectors: Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals, Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Technology, Data Centers. Knowledge of: OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals, OECD Conflict Minerals Guidance, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. Additional language capabilities such as Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Japanese. Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading audit teams.

Location & Travel

This hybrid role is based in Australia, with preference for candidates located in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. The position requires approximately 50% travel, primarily across the APAC region, with occasional global travel opportunities.
