Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist to lead technical detailing and BIM coordination for large-scale projects. You will translate concepts into buildable documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff on design delivery and quality control, driving efficiency and accuracy across the team.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on site progress, develop construction details in Revit/AutoCAD, review shop drawings and samples,

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Architectural Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience as an Architectural Technologist.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of BIM principles.
• In-depth understanding of building construction methods, materials, and South African National Building Regulations.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and construction details using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ensure designs adhere to all applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, MEP consultants, and other specialists to integrate their work into the architectural design.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with technical documentation.
• Review and approve contractor submittals, including shop drawings and material samples.
