Job summary

Anson McCade is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to lead the design and delivery of next-generation data and AI platforms across complex enterprise environments in Canberra. You will combine architecture depth with hands-on data engineering to shape modern cloud data solutions across AWS, Azure and GCP.

You’ll combine strong architecture expertise with hands‑on data engineering capability, shaping modern cloud data solutions across AWS, Azure and GCP. The role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, defining future‑state architecture and staying close to delivery.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring broad data architecture experience together with deep expertise in modern data engineering technologies.

Experience across some of the following would be highly regarded:

• Data Engineering: Fivetran, dbt and cloud‑native ETL/ELT services
• Programming: Python, Scala, Java and SQL
• Streaming: Apache Kafka, Databricks Structured Streaming and cloud‑native streaming platforms
• AI & Machine Learning: Databricks ML, MLflow and cloud‑native ML services
• Orchestration: Apache Airflow, Databricks Workflows and dbt
• Containers: Kubernetes and cloud‑native container platforms
• Analytics & BI: Power BI, Tableau, Sigma and Databricks SQL Dashboards
• Cloud: AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform

You’ll be comfortable working autonomously, breaking down ambiguous technical problems and communicating architecture decisions clearly to both technical and senior stakeholders.
