Job summary

WorkPac is seeking an experienced Senior Arborist for our client in Drouin, leading tree maintenance across parks, streetscapes and public spaces. You will provide technical expertise, mentor team members and ensure arboricultural works are completed safely and to a high standard.

This is a full-time role based in Warragul, VIC with an immediate start. Key duties include tree pruning, removal, inspections, hazard assessments and reporting; develop maintenance programs and supervise staff.

Qualifications

  • Certificate V (Diploma) in Arboriculture minimum.
  • Current driver's licence and White Card.
  • Chainsaw qualifications and experience.
  • Elevating Work Platform (EWP) over 11m (High Risk Work Licence).
  • TRAQ or QTRA Tree Risk Assessment (preferred).
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Pass a pre-employment medical.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and undertake tree pruning, removal and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct tree inspections, hazard assessments and condition reporting.
  • Develop and implement tree maintenance programs and work schedules.
  • Supervise and mentor arborists and maintenance staff.
  • Operate chainsaws, wood chippers, pole saws, EWP's and other arboriculture equipment.
  • Respond to storm damage and emergency tree works when required.
  • Ensure all works comply with Australian Standards, OH&S requirements and environmental regulations.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and members of the public.
  • Complete reporting, inspections and maintenance documentation.

Salary: $80,180.88 - $96,752.24 + Super (Dependent on Experience)

Operational staff work a 4-day work week, with rosters scheduled based on operational requirements. Employees will typically work either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday.

What You Will Be Doing

What Will You Need?
  • Extensive experience in arboriculture or tree maintenance
  • Certificate V (Diploma) in Arboriculture (minimum)
  • Current driver's licence
  • White Card
  • Chainsaw qualifications and experience
  • Elevating Work Platform (EWP) Over 11m (High Risk Work Licence)
  • Traffic Management tickets
  • TRAQ (preferred) or QTRA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification
  • Strong leadership and supervisory experience
  • Excellent knowledge of tree health, risk assessment and pruning techniques
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
