Job summary

Westpac is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for its Application Security team in Sydney. You will design and run scalable security solutions embedded inDevOps pipelines to accelerate secure software delivery.

You’ll guide developers with practical security practices, and help uplift secure development across the group. You will integrate automated controls, perform code analysis, and contribute to supply-chain and vulnerability management initiatives while collaborating with platform teams to

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with application security platforms and automation.
• Strong knowledge of GitHub integration and source-code security.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for security tooling.
• Solid DevOps experience, including CI/CD integration.
• Experience across application security, security automation and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Engineering, operating and maintaining application security platforms and tooling.
• Implementing automated code analysis, software composition analysis, secrets scanning and software supply-chain security capabilities.
• Integrating security controls into developer environments, GitHub repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
• Embedding automated security controls early in the software development lifecycle.
• Automating vulnerability identification, remediation and prevention at scale.
• Partnering with engineering and platform teams to deliver repeatable security outcomes.
• Providing practical application security guidance to developers and engineering teams.
• Supporting education and enablement initiatives that uplift secure development capability.
