Job summary

AECOM's WA Environment Business is seeking an environmental professional to join our Impact Assessment and Permitting team in Perth. You will contribute to environmental impact assessments, approvals and management for major projects across Energy, Transport, Mining and Defence.

We welcome professionals at Professional, Senior or Principal level, with responsibilities tailored to experience. Flexible work options and career growth are offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental approvals, environmental planning or related area.
  • Knowledge of WA State and/or Commonwealth environmental assessment and approvals processes.
  • Experience preparing clear, accurate environmental reports and approval documentation.
  • Experience contributing to or managing projects within consulting, government, industry or similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative approach, sound judgement and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, planning or related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate environmental impact assessments, approval documentation, constraints assessments and environmental management plans.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to identify environmental risks and ensure considerations are incorporated.
  • Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to support timely project outcomes.
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, budgets and deliverables according to experience.
  • Contribute to proposals, client relationships and growth of the practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Perth and AECOM's broader Australia and New Zealand environmental practice.
  • At senior levels, provide technical review, project leadership and mentoring.

Our WA Environment Business has an exciting opportunity for an environmental professional to join our growing Impact Assessment and Permitting (IAP) team in Perth.

With a strong pipeline of work across Energy, Transport, Mining and Defence, you will contribute to environmental impact assessments, approvals and management for a diverse range of major projects. We are open to candidates at Professional, Senior or Principal level, with the responsibilities tailored to your experience and career goals.

What will a day in this role look like?
  • Prepare and coordinate environmental impact assessments, approval documentation, constraints assessments, environmental management plans and other technical deliverables.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to identify environmental risks and ensure environmental considerations are incorporated throughout project planning, design and delivery.
  • Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to support clear, practical and timely project outcomes.
  • Coordinate project activities, including resources, programmes, budgets and deliverables, appropriate to your level of experience.
  • Contribute to proposals, client relationships and the continued growth of our Impact Assessment and Permitting practice.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues across Perth and AECOM's broader Australia and New Zealand environmental practice.
  • At more senior levels, provide technical review, project leadership and mentoring to developing team members.

  • Relevant experience in environmental impact assessment, environmental approvals, environmental planning or a related area.
  • Knowledge of WA State and/or Commonwealth environmental assessment and approvals processes.
  • Experience preparing clear, accurate and well-structured environmental reports and approval documentation.
  • Experience contributing to or managing projects within consulting, government, industry or a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A collaborative approach, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in environmental science, environmental management, planning or a related discipline.
