Job summary

Kong Australia is seeking a highly experienced Senior Staff Solutions Engineer to lead architecture, design and delivery of robust API management solutions for clients. You will drive technical excellence, mentor engineers, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

This senior role requires a deep understanding of API design, authentication/authorization, automation, and cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in Docker, Git, and Linux.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in solutions engineering, software architecture, or senior development.
• Expertise in API Design and API Management platforms; Kong is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of authentication/authorization protocols.
• Experience with automation tech, CI/CD pipelines, and cybersecurity.
• Proficient with Docker, Git, and Linux environments.
• Extensive experience with the software development life cycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex API architectures using API Design and API Management.
• Develop secure authentication and authorization strategies for API services.
• Drive automation via CI/CD pipelines to improve delivery.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices.
• Oversee client projects from scoping to execution with strong PM skills.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Leverage Docker, Git, and Linux for development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Act as a subject matter expert in the software development lifecycle.
• Perform complex system integration tasks across diverse platforms.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges proactively.
