Job summary

Rippling is seeking an experienced Senior Global Payroll Operations Specialist to own ANZ payroll operations. You’ll manage statutory submissions, tax matters, and regulatory compliance across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring alignment with Rippling’s payroll software and client requirements.

You’ll collaborate with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams, engage with customers, and drive improvements in processes and product features while coordinating with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive ANZ payroll operations experience with strong compliance
• Experience resolving tax notices with ATO/IRD
• Solid understanding of ANZ HR and payroll laws/policies
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 4+ years ANZ payroll ops and 5+ years client-facing
• Collaborating with R&D teams to define requirements, test and audit features
• Strong project management, communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Google Workspace or MS Office; familiarity with Salesforce, Jira, Confluence
• Ability to overlap with US working hours (ET/PT)

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for STP auditing and year-end finalisation, ensure compliance with ATO/IRD
• Manage statutory payments across AU and NZ, including Superannuation, KiwiSaver, FBT, and Payroll Tax
• Define product requirements based on current system behaviour; lead payroll audit projects
• Collaborate with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to support compliance and tooling needs
• Respond to customer escalations, investigate root causes, de-escalate complex queries
• Develop operating procedures to keep pace with evolving regulatory requirements
• Support scaling ANZ payroll operations by contributing to payroll strategy and process improvements
