Job summary

Pitch Black is seeking talented Animators for 6 month contracts to work on our exciting projects in Adelaide or Brisbane, with remote working arrangements considered within Australia.

You’ll contribute to high-end feature film work, delivering performance-driven animation across digi-doubles, creatures, characters, and hard-surface models, collaborating with Layout, Modelling, Rigging, and Creature teams to meet creative goals.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of animation principles: timing, weight, and performance.
• Experience with organic and/or hard-surface animation.
• Ability to problem-solve and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong organisation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Maya.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality animation from blocking through to final polish
• Deliver believable performance-driven animation across a variety of assets
• Collaborate closely with Layout, Modelling, Rigging, and Creature teams
• Respond to creative and technical feedback efficiently and accurately
• Maintain consistency and quality across sequences
• Manage time effectively and communicate progress clearly
