The City of Melton is seeking a permanent part-time Senior Animal Attendant within the Pound Services team. The 20-hour weekly role includes Fri 8:15am–12:15pm and Sat/Sun 8:15am–5:00pm, reporting to the Pound Services Team Leader and supporting daily pound operations in line with legislation.

The Band 4 salary range is $74,283 to $78,754 per annum pro rata plus 12% super. Salary offered depends on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Animal Control/Compliance or equivalent.
• Experience in animal keeping environments with care, cleaning, feeding and hygiene.
• Knowledge of Codes of Practice and legislation relating to Domestic Animals and livestock.
• Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.

Responsabilités

• Ensure all legislative requirements and Codes of Practice are followed.
• Carry out daily health and wellbeing checks of impounded animals.
• Provide training and guidance to Animal Attendants and Contractors.
• Develop processes to encourage re-homing of impounded animals.
