AustralianSuper is seeking a Lead Product Designer to drive design strategy across multiple member journeys. You’ll lead a team of Product Designers, collaborating with Product, Engineering and CX to elevate design quality and deliver accessible, scalable experiences across the portfolio.

The role focuses on mentoring designers, establishing design principles, and championing member-centered outcomes within a hybrid Melbourne office environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading design strategically across multiple products, journeys or teams.
• Strong people leadership capability, including coaching, development and design critique.
• Demonstrated success improving design quality and consistency at scale.
• Strong knowledge of user-centred, research-led design and design systems.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments and partnering closely with Product and Engineering.
• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication in regulated environments is a plus.

Lead Product Designer

Your New Role

As Product Design Lead, you’ll lead a team of Product Designers and shape the design strategy across multiple products and member journeys. Working across Product, Engineering and broader stakeholder groups, you’ll elevate design quality, strengthen ways of working and ensure accessible, consistent and member-centred experiences are delivered at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead design strategy across products and journeys, aligning member needs with business and organisational priorities.
• Translate strategic objectives into clear design direction and deliverables across multiple teams.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Product Designers.

• Partner with Product, Engineering, CX, Brand and business stakeholders to integrate design throughout the end-to-end delivery process.
• Improve design processes, workflows and systems, including the use of reusable patterns and scalable design practices.
• Champion accessible, compliant and member-centred design, ensuring outputs meet WCAG 2.1 AA and organisational standards.
