Job description

Senior Analyst, Line 1 Risk - Wholesale Banking and Financial Markets

Employee Benefits + Discounted Financial Products

Are you passionate about risk management and ready to make a meaningful impact in the financial services sector? BOQ Group is seeking a dedicated and analytical Senior Analyst, Line 1 Risk to join our Wholesale Banking and Financial Markets team.

In this role, you will play a key part in strengthening risk management across the Wholesale Banking and Financial Markets business unit. Your responsibilities include supporting the identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of risk, while embedding a strong risk culture and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the 3 lines of defence, our compliance teams, and the broader Business Banking division. Your duties will involve managing incidents and issues, conducting risk assessments, supporting transformation initiatives, and contributing to the development of risk-related policies and procedures.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative and forward-thinking team that supports BOQ Group’s transformation journey and commitment to operational excellence.

About you

You are an enthusiastic and analytical problem solver with a strong background in non-financial risk management—particularly in incident and issue management, risk analysis, and profiling. You have experience from a similar role within financial services, ideally in Business Banking or Financial Markets.

You are confident working with complex data, have excellent attention to detail, and can clearly articulate risk insights and solutions. You are a natural collaborator, able to build strong relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and organisational levels.

Qualifications in risk management, law, business, or finance are desirable. Accreditation from the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA) and familiarity with FX Global Code are highly regarded but not mandatory. Familiarity with key banking legislation and codes—such as AML/CTF, the Corporations Act, BCOP—is essential.

At BOQ Group, we value curiosity, energy, and a commitment to continuous improvement. If you’re looking to grow your career in a purpose-driven organisation that values diversity and inclusion, we’d love to hear from you.
