Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a business, risk, finance, actuarial, or related field.
• 3+ years' experience in financial services, risk management, insurance, banking, or related industry.
• Understanding of life insurance prudential requirements, capital frameworks, or regulatory obligations.
• Strong analytical skills to navigate complex issues and identify practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication with a collaborative, continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide trusted risk and compliance guidance to strengthen management of financial risks across the business.
• Contribute to development and enhancement of TAL's Risk Appetite Statement.
• Support and evolve TAL’s ICAAP framework with Capital teams.
• Lead coordination and delivery of stress testing scenarios to strengthen resilience.
• Build strong stakeholder partnerships to embed risk awareness and promote effective risk management practices.
• Deliver risk expertise and strategic advice to projects across TAL’s financial risk portfolio.

Job Description

At TAL, you'll play a key role in strengthening the frameworks that help us deliver on our promise to protect Australians with confidence. Working within the Line 2 Risk Office, you'll partner with stakeholders across the business to enhance financial risk management practices, support critical decision making, and help shape a strong and sustainable future for TAL. In This Role You Will

• Provide trusted risk and compliance guidance to strengthen the management of financial risks across the business
• Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of TAL’s Risk Appetite Statement
• Collaborate with Capital teams to support and evolve TAL’s Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) framework
• Lead the coordination and delivery of stress testing scenarios that strengthen business resilienceBuild strong stakeholder partnerships to embed risk awareness and promote effective risk management practices
• Deliver risk expertise and strategic advice to projects across TAL’s financial risk portfolio

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in a business, risk, finance, actuarial or related discipline
• At least 3+ years' experience within financial services, risk management, insurance, banking or a related industry
• Understanding of life insurance prudential requirements, capital frameworks or regulatory obligations
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex issues and identify practical solutions
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capabilities
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative and continuous improvement mindset
