Job summary

The Senior Analyst at the University of Sydney will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable solutions and champion best practices in commercial and strategic analysis.

You will drive long-range forecasting, scenario planning, and high-quality financial modelling while supporting faculties, PSUs and management across the university.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Business analysis and business process analysis experience within a tertiary education institution.
  • Identifying and mapping ‘as is’ and creating ‘to be’ business processes and insights.
  • Understanding of change management principles and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage effective stakeholder collaboration and engagement in strategic financial and commercial analysis and commentary.
  • Present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders across all levels using information packs, business cases, briefing papers or concept papers.
  • Drive the development, implementation, and review of high-quality financial models, including long-range forecasting and financial planning.
  • Provide insightful, strategic financial modelling and reports to Finance Services staff and management of Faculties, Schools, Centres and Foundations.

About the opportunity The Senior Analyst will collaborate with diverse stakeholders, translating complex requirements into actionable solutions. As the successful candidate you will champion best practices in commercial and strategic analysis and engage deeply with internal stakeholders ensuring requirements are met through financial modelling and analysis. Furthermore, you will drive the conceptualisation and recommendation of innovative solutions, always upholding the highest standards of excellence.

Your key responsibilities will be to: manage effective stakeholder collaboration and engagement in key pieces of strategic financial and commercial analysis and commentary present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders across all levels in the University, through the development and use of information packs, business cases, briefing papers or concept papers drive the development, implementation, and review of high-quality financial models, including long range forecasting and other key pieces of financial planning and analysis provide insightful, strategic and commercial and financial modelling and reports, analysis, business cases and assistance to other Finance Services staff and management of Faculties, Schools, Centres and Foundations, PSUs and DVCs lead the development of scenario planning and sensitivity analysis, and any additional ad-hoc financial and commercial assessment as required, implementing best practices in financial modelling.

About you postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of training and experience business analysis and business process analysis experience within a tertiary education institution identifying and mapping ‘as is’ and creating ‘to be’ business processes and insights an understanding of change management principles ability to communicate effectively with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholder engagement experience with the ability to translate complex commercial and strategic data.
