Job summary

BDO is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our AML team on a fixed-term contract up to six months. You will lead reviews of customer due diligence and guide AML activities across ~30,000 engagements, balancing technical analysis with stakeholder engagement.

You will work closely with the AML Senior Manager to advance BDO's AML/CTF program, applying risk-based thinking and delivering practical process improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in AML/CTF compliance and customer due diligence.
• Strong knowledge of Australian AML/CTF legislation.
• Experience reviewing due diligence files with a risk-based approach.
• Identify compliance gaps and propose practical solutions.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, guidance materials or training.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organization skills and ability to juggle priorities.
• Experience with FirstAML would be highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Review AML customer due diligence files and assess compliance.
• Identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
• Develop operational guidance materials, templates and training resources.
• Support remediation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide AML guidance to AML Administrators conducting due diligence.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of AML processing.
• Assist with complex due diligence matters and escalations.
• Support workflow management and workforce planning.
• Build strong relationships across the firm to promote AML compliance.
