Job summary

Qantas Group is seeking an experienced Solution Architect - AI to shape enterprise AI architecture and governance. You will set the GenAI platform strategy, define model access, orchestration, and tool integration across the data and AI landscape.

You will partner with business leaders and delivery teams to deliver safe, scalable AI solutions on a Snowflake-based data platform, ensuring privacy, data residency, and oversight across the solution lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years in solution or enterprise architecture, with hands-on AI/ML production design on AWS.
• Strong depth in generative and agentic AI patterns including RAG, fine-tuning, guardrails and cost management.
• Experience with MLOps and model lifecycle within program governance.
• Solid data management foundations and understanding of data lineage, quality and cataloguing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the solution architecture for AI/ML initiatives across generative and predictive models.
• Maintain AI capability model and reference architecture; design enterprise GenAI platform and workbench.
• Incorporate governance: privacy by design, data residency, model inference location, human oversight.
• Define patterns for AI on the data platform (Snowflake Cortex AI, Snowpark ML) and real-time inference.
• Assess build vs buy, managed vs self-hosted AI solutions with cost and risk trade-offs.
• Collaborate with Security, Cyber and Risk on AI-specific threats and risk.
• Advise sponsors on scope, sequencing and architecture risk; mentor peers in AI architecture.
