Job summary

Nuage in Sydney is seeking a hands-on engineer to design and build multi-agent AI systems, bridging agentic AI with the underlying infrastructure. You will work with LLM fundamentals, agent design patterns, and the MCP protocol while owning API design, compute, containers (EKS), networking, and infrastructure as code via Terraform.

This six-month contract offers hybrid onsite work in Sydney. You should be based in Australia with PR or citizenship.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agent design patterns, and prompt engineering.
• Experience building or working with the MCP protocol.
• Strong API design and enterprise integration experience.
• Platform engineering chops: EC2/EKS, Terraform, security-by-design.
• Backend development in Java, plus frontend experience (React/TypeScript).

Job description

Our med- tech client is building out its next generation of AI powered engineering capability. They're after someone who can move fluently between agentic AI systems and the infrastructure that supports them.

What you'll be doing

You'll design and build multi-agent systems, working with LLM fundamentals, agent design patterns, and the MCP protocol for tool use and resource discovery. On the integration side, you'll design and build APIs, work with enterprise auth and own the platform underneath it all, compute, containers (EKS), networking, and infrastructure as code via Terraform, with security engineering front of mind.
