Job summary

Firmus Technologies in Sydney seeks a Network Engineer/Senior Network Engineer to lead design and deployment of AI infrastructure networks. You will architect and maintain LAN/WAN/WLAN/VPN, implement security and zero-trust practices, and drive network automation initiatives across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires 8+ years in network engineering, strong Linux networking, and hands-on experience with InfiniBand, RoCE, and open-source NOS like Cumulus Linux/Sonic.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 8+ years in network engineering for AI infrastructure.
• Strong experience with LAN/WAN/VPN design, security policy enforcement, and network automation.
• Proven ability to lead complex networking projects, mentor juniors, and work across teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain corporate LAN, WAN, WLAN, and VPN networks.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance for on-prem and cloud-connected services.
• Develop IaC-driven configurations with Ansible, Netbox, and Python scripts.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for network changes and automate provisioning, backups, and compliance checks.
• Implement firewall rules, VLANs, ACLs, and zero-trust networking between data centres and partner networks.
• Provide on-call support and collaborate with security, data centre, and software teams.
