Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to embed with enterprise customers in Australia. You will design, build, deploy, and run AI-powered production systems, owning outcomes end-to-end from prototype to enterprise-scale deployment.

You will lead technical delivery across customer engagements, shape architectures, and define production standards. Expect 30–50% travel and deep collaboration with customer engineering teams to scale AI solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery across customer engagements.
• Own the technical strategy and execution for complex, multi-workstream AI programs.
• Architect foundational architectures for enterprise AI systems (multi-agent orchestration, retrieval systems, decision intelligence).
• Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, and production readiness criteria for AI systems.
• Scale engineering patterns, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to interview processes.
• Accelerate customer transformation by creating accelerators and reusable platforms.
