Job summary

Akkodis is partnering with a large Federal Government organisation to deliver enterprise-scale AI, ML and Generative AI initiatives across Australia. Senior AI Engineer will design, implement and optimise AI platforms on-premise, in the cloud, and in hybrid setups.

You will collaborate with Data Scientists, Architects, Cyber Security and Engineering teams, ensuring secure, scalable solutions aligned to government standards. A Baseline Clearance is required for this EL1-equivalent role.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as an AI Engineer within large enterprise environments.
• Strong experience designing and supporting AI/ML and Generative AI platforms.
• Proven experience across on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
• Experience delivering production-grade AI engineering and MLOps solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and influence strategic outcomes.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior AI Engineer to join a high-performing technology team delivering enterprise-scale AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions.

As a senior EL1-equivalent professional, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and optimising AI platforms across on-premise, cloud-native and hybrid environments. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Architects, Cyber Security teams and key stakeholders to establish foundational AI capabilities while ensuring solutions remain secure, scalable and aligned to government standards and frameworks.

Security Clearance: Baseline Clearance is must

Duties / Typical Day / Responsibilities

• Design and deliver secure, scalable and highly available AI, ML and Generative AI platforms
• Lead implementation, deployment and optimisation of enterprise AI workloads
• Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and automation capabilities
