Job summary

St Vincent's Health Australia is seeking a senior AI delivery engineer to move AI solutions from prototype to governed production within a data and AI platform. You will work with clinicians and governance teams to ensure compliant, scalable AI across care settings.

You’ll build agentic AI, integrate large language models, and deploy in production using MCP, Databricks, Unity Catalog and enterprise APIs. Strong Python and ML engineering skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' professional software, data or ML engineering experience, incl. 2+ years building AI solutions.
• Experience deploying AI solutions from prototype to production with governance.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with hands-on API and service development.
• Proven ability to integrate LLM APIs (Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI) in apps.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks, MCP and memory/multistep workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build, test and deploy production AI solutions in clinical/operational workflows.
• Design agentic AI using MCP, tool calling, memory and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Integrate LLMs via Databricks Mosaic and Azure OpenAI into workflows through secure APIs.
• Build on the CDAI platform, expose AI via enterprise API gateway and MCP servers.
• Prepare clinical/operational data for model development and retrieval.
• Train/validate ML models and implement MLOps across lifecycle.
• Create reusable AI Accelerators and contribute to the team's library.
