Job summary

Metro North Health is seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to deliver advanced physiotherapy services in a Residential Aged Care Home environment, primarily at Cooinda House. You will support residents' health, mobility and independence within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to service development and education.

The role involves clinical leadership, supervision of staff, and participation in quality improvement activities to ensure evidence-based care for residents with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Deliver advanced physiotherapy assessments and interventions for residents with complex health needs.
• Collaborate effectively with residents, families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Provide education, mentoring and clinical supervision to allied health staff.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced physiotherapy assessments and interventions for residents with complex health needs, exercising independent clinical judgement and applying evidence-based practice to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provide expert advice regarding mobility, falls prevention, pressure injury management, functional independence, equipment prescription and physiotherapy service delivery.
• Collaborate with residents, families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support coordinated, person-centred care and service planning.
• Provide education, mentoring and clinical supervision to allied health assistants, students and less experienced practitioners.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and service development initiatives that enhance physiotherapy services.
