Job summary

Boeing Defence Australia invites applications for an Electrical and Electronic Systems Design Engineer to join the Mission Systems hardware team. You will contribute to upgrades and new capabilities for the RAAF Wedgetail Mission System, working across design, development and verification.

The role supports collaboration with stakeholders across engineering disciplines and may be based in Adelaide, Brisbane, or Williamtown. A solid systems engineering background is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience in a project engineering environment.
• Experience applying systems engineering practices across design, development, integration, verification, operations or support phases.
• Hands-on experience with electronics and computing hardware and/or networking within a Mission System environment is desirable.
• Familiarity with engineering change processes and enterprise gate processes is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills to influence outcomes within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design and support for mission computing hardware, sensors, communications, and avionics systems across the product lifecycle.
• Conduct engineering activities per project plans and standards with a focus on process improvement.
• Develop, review and approve engineering designs and decisions.
• Perform requirements analysis, specification, design, procurement, development, qualification, integration and test of Mission System hardware.
• Prepare and deliver engineering documents and artefacts, including presentations.
• Support Verification & Validation activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, customers, suppliers and SMEs to develop innovative solutions for user operations.
• Provide technical supervision of less experienced engineers and coach junior staff.
