Job summary

Youth Justice and Victim Support Brisbane is seeking a Principal Advisor in the Admission Coordination Unit. The role focuses on prioritising admissions, coordinating interfacility transfers, and liaising with agencies to support vulnerable youths in watchhouses and detention centres.

You will lead major projects, provide expert advice, and develop operational and inter-agency policies. Applicants should demonstrate cultural capability and strong leadership, coordinating a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications

Cultural capability and commitment to inclusive practices per Human Rights Act 2019.
Ability to oversee prioritisation and coordinate admissions for youth detention.
Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders on complex matters.
Experience leading major projects with compressed timelines.
Provide high level expert advice, briefs and reports.
Lead development of operational and practice support solutions.

Responsibilities

Oversee, coordinate and monitor daily prioritisation process for admissions.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on complex youth watchhouse matters.
Lead, plan, implement and monitor major projects within tight timeframes.
Provide high level advice, briefs and reports to stakeholders.
Develop inter-agency agreements, policies and capacity building.
Represent and negotiate on behalf of the team in working groups.
Coordinate team activities as team leader and maintain equitable work environment.
