Job description

Senior Advisor - Procurement and Probity
About the role

Use your procurement expertise to make a meaningful difference for local communities. As a Senior Advisor/Advisor – Consulting Services (Procurement) with Peak Services, you will deliver procurement advisory and probity consulting services to local government and public sector clients across Queensland. Working as part of our high-performing Advisory team, you will lead procurement and contracting projects from end to end, including tender management, procurement planning, and the development of strong contract management frameworks, while ensuring compliance with the Local Government Act/Regulations and Queensland Procurement Policy.

Working closely with councils and other clients, you will deliver tailored procurement solutions that address complex challenges and improve community outcomes. You will combine strong procurement expertise with a client-focused approach, managing multiple projects while delivering timely, high-quality advice and documentation. The role offers variety, from providing probity and assurance guidance to supporting project delivery and preparing clear, defensible reports and recommendations. You will also help grow the business by building trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities to further support Queensland councils.

About you

You are an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a consulting environment and is committed to helping clients achieve strong outcomes. Ideally, you will bring:

  • Proven procurement expertise in local government or the public sector, including knowledge of Queensland’s Local Government Act & Regulations and the Queensland Procurement Policy.
  • Strong tendering and contract management experience – you have managed multiple tender processes, developed procurement plans, and built procurement and contract frameworks. Probity or assurance experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills – you build trust, handle sensitive conversations professionally, and produce clear, high-quality reports and recommendations.
  • Consulting and project management capability – you can manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and budgets, and work effectively through complex or ambiguous situations while keeping client needs front of mind.
  • Qualifications – a tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as procurement, business, law, or project management, is essential. Professional certifications, including MCIPS or similar procurement or governance credentials, will be highly regarded.
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset – you work well in a team, contribute to a positive high-performance culture, and look for ways to improve outcomes for clients.

If you do not meet every requirement but are excited by this role, we still encourage you to apply. Your passion for procurement and consulting, willingness to learn, and commitment to delivering strong client outcomes matter most.
