  • Base Salary starting from $99, 455 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity



The University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH), Rural Clinical School- Northern Rivers, University of Sydney provides a multidisciplinary centre of excellence in education of students for clinical practice in rural health. We also conduct research relevant to the priorities and needs of rural communities, with a focus on Aboriginal health research, climate change and health impacts, education research and health services research.



This position will be based within the Lismore campus and is located within walking distance of the Lismore Base Hospital and, along with our other numerous community and health partners, provides opportunities to support education and research activity in the region. The incumbent's presence on campus at Lismore is strongly preferred.



Are you an experienced and proactive administrator with a passion for supporting education and research in the health sector? We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Administration Officer (Allied Health) to join our dynamic Allied Health Education team.

In this pivotal role, you will provide high-level administrative support to academic, clinical, and research staff, ensuring the smooth operation of educational and research activities. You will also play a key role in supporting students and Education Support Officers, contributing to a positive and enriching learning environment.



The UCRH has a footprint in the Northern Rivers, NSW, north to the Mullumbimby region, south to Grafton, west to Bonalbo and east to Ballina/ Byron, and works closely with multiple partners to support education, research and workforce development in Northern NSW.



Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Allied Health Education team, including the Academic Lead and Program Manager
  • Coordinate the annual education planning cycle, accommodation allocations, and teaching space bookings
  • Support with grant reporting, milestone tracking, and application submissions
  • Maintain and update communication materials and website content in collaboration with the Communications Lead
  • Backfill Education Support Officers during peak periods or leave, and support student placements and teaching coordination
  • Deliver student support services, including orientation, pastoral care, and community engagement activities
  • Ensure compliance with university and health service policies and procedures
  • Organise and manage meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics, catering, and IT support
  • Manage record keeping, and finance/accounting support and reporting for the work area
  • Provide at a senior level, general administrative services and operational support to the work area.



About you

  • Tertiary qualifications with some relevant work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience handling a wide range of enquiries and delivering outstanding customer service
  • Strong time and workload management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, using initiative and sound judgement to resolve issues
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship building
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions
  • High-level computer proficiency, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures within a tertiary education or similar complex environment
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and contributing to a positive team culture.
