Job summary

Arup in Sydney is seeking a Senior Acoustician to lead and manage acoustics, noise, and vibration projects, delivering technically robust and creative solutions for clients. You will guide project teams, ensure high-quality deliverables, and support the development of junior team members.

The role requires a tertiary degree in Acoustics/Physics/Engineering or related discipline, with 6+ years’ experience and strong knowledge of principles, legislation, and guidelines.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline, with a recognised professional qualification.
• At least 6 years’ experience in acoustics consulting or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of acoustics, noise, and vibration principles, including relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver medium-sized acoustics, noise, and vibration consulting projects from planning through execution.
• Resolve complex acoustical engineering challenges and provide clear interpretations and conclusions from technical data.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, supervising colleagues and collaborating with engineers from other disciplines.
• Communicate technical acoustics advice through meetings, reports, and presentations to clients and stakeholders.
• Manage project performance including timelines, budgets, client enquiries, and preparation of fee proposals.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development activities.
