Job summary

Focus Partners Australia is seeking a senior Supervisor to lead technical and delivery-focused work with high client interaction in Sydney. You will review work, provide guidance, manage workflows, and mentor junior team members in a fast-paced practice.

The role involves client engagement across tax, compliance, and advisory engagements, ensuring quality and professional standards while coordinating with Managers and Principals. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years’ experience in business services and taxation within public practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• CPA or CA qualification.
• High-level tax law and review expertise.
• Demonstrated experience supporting and reviewing team output.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular client contact and assist in managing relationships.
• Assist in client meetings on compliance reviews, tax planning, and structuring discussions.
• Respond to client queries with professionalism and accuracy.
• Support managers in delivering end-to-end compliance and advisory outcomes.
• Review financial statements for accuracy.
• Review income tax returns for various entities.
• Provide guidance on income tax, CGT, concessions, FBT and GST.
• Assist with ATO correspondence and reviews.
• Ensure compliance with ATO lodgement and standards.
• Provide tax law guidance.
• Ensure output meets quality and compliance standards.
• Assist with complex tax issues and escalations.
