Job summary

Mercor is seeking a senior Accounting Expert to design evaluation tasks for AI in financial reporting, audit, and technical accounting contexts. The role covers US GAAP/PCAOB and IFRS/ISA tracks, with emphasis on complex accounting problems and reference outputs.

You will draft rubrics, create scenarios across ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and contribute to internal controls and audit-ready materials. This is a fully remote contract in Australia, aligned to weekly payment terms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working as an accountant, controller, or audit professional
• Fluency in accounting tooling and regulatory reporting understanding
• Professional credential (CPA/ACCA/CA) preferred and beneficial

Responsibilities

• Construct accounting scenarios spanning financial reporting, technical accounting research, audit processes, and complex transactions
• Build tasks across financial reporting, technical accounting and research, audit and assurance, and SOX controls
• Develop scenarios involving ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), consolidation software, and audit platforms
• ApplyUS GAAP/ASC and IFRS/ISA standards to produce reference financial statements and memos
• Author rubrics distinguishing authentic accounting judgment from generic recall
