Traverse Accountants in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Business Services team. The role blends compliance, advisory, and client-facing work, and you will work closely with the Director to deliver high-quality outcomes.

With 8+ years in Public Practice, you will drive tax planning, statutory reporting, and strategic insights for a diverse client base, mentoring junior staff and helping optimise processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in Business Services / Public Practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication and client management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Proactive and commercially minded approach.
• Valid Australian work rights (no sponsorship required).

Responsibilities

• Tax & Compliance: Prepare income tax returns and BAS for clients.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and workpapers; GL maintenance.
• Assist with audits and liaise with ATO/ASIC on client matters.
• Advisory & Business Services: Tax planning, structuring, and reports.
• Prepare management reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts.
• Support high-net-worth clients and complex structures.
• Client & Team Engagement: Manage client relationships and collaborate with Director.
