About the Role

After years of successfully outsourcing our finance function through early-stage growth, we’re ready to bring things in-house. This is your chance to build it from the ground up.
As our first in-house Senior Accountant, you'll be the cornerstone of our financial operations — owning everything from day-to-day accounting to building the systems that support smart, scalable decision-making. You’ll work across teams, countries, and systems to bring visibility and insight to the heart of Hommey’s growth journey.

What You’ll Do

• Own and lead the full accounting function: bank recs, month-end close, management reports, journals, and reconciliations
• Build and streamline financial processes as we transition from outsourced to in-house systems
• Maintain accurate records in Xero and oversee accounts payable, receivable, and payroll
• Prepare weekly cash flow reporting and ensure regulatory compliance (BAS, IAS, payroll tax etc.)
• Support inventory and COGS accounting across AU and US using Xero & Cin7
• Liaise with external tax accountants on year-end financials, tax returns, FBT and compliance
• Collaborate with international partners and third parties to support our new US entity
• Design processes and internal controls to scale with the complexity of our business
• Partner with leadership to provide reporting, insights, and commercial support

About You

• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in retail or eCommerce
• You’re fluent in Xero — NetSuite and Cin7 experience is a major bonus
• CA or CPA qualified (or working toward it)
• Familiar with international accounting, US entities or cross-border operations
• Detail-obsessed, highly organised, and proactive in solving problems
• A natural collaborator and strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• You’re entrepreneurial — you don’t just manage processes, you improve them
