Job summary

Arkadia Talent invites applications for a Senior Accountant role based in Newcastle. The successful candidate will own end‑to‑end financial close, statutory reporting and monthly management reporting in a hands-on trade services business.

You will work closely with operations to understand job profitability, manage budgeting and cash flow, and support strategic decision making alongside senior leadership.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification mandatory.
• Experience in blue-collar or trade-based business.
• Commercial experience outside of audit is essential.
• Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards (AASB/IFRS).

Responsibilities

• End-to-end financial reporting and month-end close.
• Preparation of statutory accounts and management reports.
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management, including job costing and margin visibility.
• Coordinating audit processes and working with external advisors.
• Improving financial controls, processes and reporting.
• Partnering with operations to understand job profitability, labour utilisation and working capital.
• Supporting commercial decision making and growth initiatives.
• Preparing reporting and insights for the leadership team and board.
