Job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well-established and growing Melbourne accounting firm. This role offers exposure to overall accounting and tax experience, along with opportunities to mentor junior staff and work directly with partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare year-end financial accounts and income tax returns (companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals).
  • Handle accounting and bookkeeping tasks including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll review.
  • Manage compliance lodgements (BAS, IAS, GST, FBT).
  • Liaise with the ATO and other regulators on behalf of clients.
  • Provide Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks support to clients.
  • Review and mentor graduate/junior accountants.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring timely delivery of compliance and advisory services.
  • Conduct financial analysis, management reporting, and assist in tax planning and advisory.
Key Requirements
  • 2+ years’ accounting experience with at least 1+ year in an Australian accounting firm.
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA (completed or in progress) highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, AP/AR, compliance, and financial reporting.
  • Bilingual — fluent in English and Mandarin/Chinese (spoken & written).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients.
  • Team player with potential to lead and mentor others.
