BDO in Sydney is seeking a Senior Accountant in Business Services for a flexible, part-time arrangement. The role provides professional accounting services to diverse domestic and international clients, from startups to multi-million-dollar entities, across various industries.

Brand-new offices are located in Sydney CBD and Parramatta, offering opportunities for growth while maintaining flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification (or currently completing).
• 2-3 years’ Business Services/Tax experience (mid-tier experience desirable).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish professional relations with internal and external clients.
• Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage individual and team workflow.
• Self-motivated, taking responsibility for personal and professional development.
• Team player and committed to supporting team members.
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management accounting reports for Manager review, including commentary for key stakeholders.
• Prepare a range of complex financial statements in accordance with regulatory, accounting and financial reporting standards.
• Prepare clear and concise work papers and review work papers of junior staff. Supervise junior staff as appropriate.
• Review appropriate completed tax and FBT returns for compliance identifying any non-compliance issues arising from them.
• Perform tax planning for clients.
• Prepare tax returns for all entities.
• Quarterly and annual tax compliance matters.
• Prepare advice for clients in relation to business operations and regulatory matters.
• General business administration.
