Job summary

OZ Global Recruitment seeks an experienced Senior Accountant – Business Services to oversee a diverse SME and individual client portfolio. You’ll deliver financial statements, tax returns and BAS, while offering practical accounting advice and proactive budgeting. Autonomy and collaboration surround you in a supportive team.

You’ll work with a range of structures, including SMSFs, and leverage Xero, XPM, FYI and BGL360 to streamline client service. Flexible hours apply in a collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting or related discipline.
• 5+ years’ experience in Australian public practice accounting.
• CA, CPA or IPA qualification, or working towards one.
• Strong experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS.
• Experience with SMSFs and individual clients.
• Experience with Xero, XPM, FYI and BGL360 advantageous.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• A proactive and professional approach.
• High integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team.

The Opportunity

An experienced Senior Accountant – Business Services is sought to take responsibility for a portfolio of clients and provide a comprehensive range of accounting, taxation and business services.

You’ll enjoy:

• Managing your own portfolio of SME and individual clients
• Preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS
• Providing practical accounting and taxation advice
• Preparing and managing client budgets
• Working directly with clients and developing genuine relationships
• Having autonomy over your workload while being supported by an experienced team

About You

You will ideally have:

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in Australian public practice accounting
• CA, CPA or IPA qualification, or be working towards one — beneficial but not essential
• Strong experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and BAS
• Experience working with a range of business structures, including self-managed-superfunds and individual clients
• Experience with Xero, XPM, FYI and BGL360 advantageous
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• A proactive and professional approach
• High levels of integrity and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team
