Job summary

Appreciating Talent is seeking a technically strong accountant in Sydney to bridge local reporting with global finance. You will own month-end close processes, deliver insightful management reports, and support forecasting while ensuring revenue recognition and margin integrity across environments.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Sales, Operations and Delivery teams and involves ERP.systems implementation and process automation to drive efficiency in a growing, multinational context.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
• Strong month-end experience and financial reporting.
• Experience with revenue recognition in complex environments.
• Proven stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and support month-end close, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet controls.
• Prepare monthly management reporting and analysis.

Job description

This is a great opportunity for a technically strong accountant who wants more than a traditional month-end role. You'll sit at the intersection of financial reporting, revenue recognition, commercial finance and finance transformation, working closely with both the local business and global finance teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Own and support month-end close, journals, reconciliations and balance sheet controls
• Prepare monthly management reporting and analysis
• Support forecasting and financial planning
• Strengthen revenue recognition and margin integrity
• Apply revenue recognition policies aligned with US GAAP
• Partner with Sales, Operations and Delivery teams

• Contribute to ERP/global finance systems implementation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation

What we're looking for:

• Strong financial accounting and month-end experience
• Experience with revenue recognition / complex revenue environments
• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification preferred
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in a technology, professional services, listed or multinational environment would be highly regarded
• Someone proactive who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining them
