Qualifications

• CA or CPA-qualified or currently completing the designation.
• 4+ years of experience in Australian public practice.
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and taxation compliance.
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, APS or Class accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex financial statements and tax returns for a diverse client portfolio.
• Provide high-level tax planning and business advisory services.
• Manage client relationships and deliver proactive solutions.
• Mentor and review work of junior accountants to support team development.
• Liaise with the ATO on client matters as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance & Taxation: Prepare and review complex financial statements, income tax returns, and activity statements for a diverse portfolio of clients (Individuals, Companies, Trusts, and Partnerships).
• Business Advisory: Provide high-level tax planning, structuring, and management accounting advice to help clients grow their businesses.
• Client Relationship Management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships and delivering proactive solutions.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and review the work of junior and intermediate accountants, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
• ATO Liaison: Manage correspondence and negotiations with the ATO on behalf of clients.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 4+ years of experience within an Australian public practice environment.
• Qualifications: CA or CPA qualified (or currently completing).
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Australian tax law and proficiency in modern accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, APS, or Class).
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts in plain English.
• Mindset: A motivated team player with strong problem-solving abilities and a sharp eye for detail.
