Origin Business Consultants is a growing three-partner Accounting & Taxation practice in West Perth, just a short stroll from public transport (so yes, you can leave your car at home and avoid the parking nightmare). We specialise in tax accounting and business advisory services, working with a diverse mix of clients across multiple industries. Our team is dynamic, collaborative, and genuinely supportive. No toxic “sink or swim” culture here. We back each other and we grow together.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who knows their stuff, owns their work, and is ready to step into a role with genuine influence. You will manage a varied client portfolio, work directly with the partners on complex projects, and take a lead role in mentoring junior team members.

And yes, there is a real path to partner here. We have an old dog in our midst and, at some point, he’s going to pass the baton. When he does, we want someone ready to run with it.

This is not a “churn out tax returns” position. This is about strategy, problem-solving, and building strong client relationships. If you are the type of accountant who can handle big-picture thinking and still spot the $2 rounding error, you will fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships
• Oversee BAS, IAS, and GST reporting for your client base
• Lead client meetings and provide clear, actionable advice
• Mentor and review the work of intermediate and junior accountants
• Advise on structuring, tax planning, and compliance strategies
• Liaise with the ATO and other stakeholders to resolve complex matters
• Drive process improvements and embrace technology to work smarter, not harder

What We Are Looking For

• Significant public practice experience as a senior or strong intermediate ready to step up
• CA or CPA qualified (or very close)
• Strong working knowledge of MYOB, Xero, BGL, and other accounting software
• The ability to think commercially, not just technically
• Confident communication skills with clients and team members
• A solutions-focused mindset and a healthy dislike of “this is how we’ve always done it”
