Job summary

H.U. Partners in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Business Services team. You will take ownership of delivering high-quality accounting, compliance and tax advisory services while mentoring junior staff.

You'll blend technical excellence with relationship building, manage client portfolios, liaise with the ATO where required, and support clients using Xero, MYOB and other cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
• CA or CPA qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns for individuals, company, trust and partnership entities.
• Prepare financial statements and reviews of BAS, IAS and GST obligations.
• Manage client portfolios and maintain ongoing client relationships.
• Provide general tax advice and business structuring advice.
• Liaise with the ATO and other regulatory bodies as required.
• Assist clients with accounting software including Xero and MYOB.

About the role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our firm and be part of our Accounting Business Services team. In this pivotal role you will take ownership of delivering high-quality accounting, compliance and tax advisory services.You'll be able to blend your technical excellence and relationship building skills with mentoring and support of junior staff members.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns.

Preparation of financial statements

Preparation and review of BAS, IAS and GST obligations

Managing client portfolios and maintaining ongoing client relationships

Providing general tax advice and business structuring advice

Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies where required

Assisting clients with accounting software including Xero, MYOB or similar platforms

Identifying opportunities to improve client outcomes and business performance

Supporting junior team members and contributing to the ongoing development of the practice.

Play an important role in servicing business clients and individuals

Ongoing professional development and training opportunities

Negotiable Salary depending on qualifications and experience

Our ideal candidate will have

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Proven accounting experience including well developed skills in analysis and interpretation of financial data

CA or CPA qualified

Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)

Excellent problem-solving skills

Strong business acumen

Experience with Xero, MYOB and other cloud-based accounting platforms.
