Job summary

ResMed is seeking a Senior Accessibility Specialist to embed accessibility into our Design System. You will work with designers and engineers to ensure components meet WCAG 2.2 AA, identify barriers, and guide practical solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in digital accessibility with design and engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA and translating standards into guidance.
• Experience reviewing accessibility across designs, prototypes, and code.
• Hands-on testing with assistive tech and keyboard-only navigation.
• Knowledge of accessible HTML, CSS and ARIA in modern web apps.
• Familiarity with automated accessibility testing and supplementing with manual testing.
• Interest in AI-assisted design and how accessibility fits AI workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and embed accessibility standards across the Design System per WCAG 2.2 AA.
• Review designs, prototypes and front-end code with accessibility testing.
• Partner with designers and engineers to identify barriers and practical solutions.
• Define accessible component behaviours and guidance across HTML, ARIA, focus management, colour contrast, forms and motion.
• Establish acceptance criteria, testing practices and documentation in Design System workflows.
• Support product teams with accessibility challenges and improve tools/processes.
• Embed accessibility into AI-assisted design and development with guardrails for AI experiences.
• Advocate for inclusive design and translate evolving standards into guidance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI and engineering to identify issues and pragmatic solutions.
• Communicate clearly about accessibility requirements and customer impact.
