Job summary

St John of God Midland Public Hospital is seeking an experienced Senior Aboriginal Health Practitioner to deliver culturally safe clinical care and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients in a public hospital setting.

You will provide clinical support, health education, and health promotion initiatives, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and Aboriginal community services to improve health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia.
• Minimum of five years' experience as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
• Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice (HLT40221) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver culturally safe, holistic clinical care within scope of practice.
• Provide health education and promotion to patients and families.
• Conduct health assessments, screening, monitoring and treatment.
• Advocate for patients and facilitate access to services.
• Support Aboriginal Medical Services and community health partners.
