Job summary

VIC Department of Justice and Community Safety – Reservoir VIC seeks an Aboriginal Advanced Case Manager to deliver culturally informed case management for high‑risk individuals with complex needs in a metropolitan setting.

You will assess suitability for corrections orders, advise on case management approaches, and collaborate with Aboriginal organisations to reduce recidivism while supporting community safety.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal Community.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Victorian Aboriginal Community and the issues impacting on it.
• Demonstrated experience and knowledge of best practice case management frameworks.
• Ability to implement theoretical concepts to reduce risk and maximise individual outcomes.
• Seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and ways to innovate.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of predominantly high‑risk individuals and provide culturally informed case management intervention to address offending behaviours, support engagement with community services, and promote completion of Community Correction Orders.
• Develop and implement culturally informed case management intervention plans for Aboriginal persons to support engagement, reduce recidivism, promote meaningful outcomes, and mitigate risk to community.
• Identify and evaluate factors that relate to individual offending behaviour and provide individualised risk assessment advice to senior management and community‑based teams on effective case management of Aboriginal persons.
• Develop relationships with Aboriginal organisations and other organisations that support and strengthen the case management of Aboriginal persons.
