Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Australia is seeking an experienced Ab Initio data engineer for a full-time permanent role in Sydney. The candidate will bring 7+ years of data engineering/ETL experience, hands-on coding, and ability to mentor teammates.

Strong Oracle SQL, AWS, REST APIs, Kafka, and CI/CD tooling are key assets. You will join a collaborative, purpose-driven team focused on sustainable technology solutions for clients across industries in Australia.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering/ETL with Unix/Linux, Ab Initio, and data integration tools.
• Hands-on programming skills in Python and Java.
• Ability to mentor teammates and provide technical guidance.
• Experience leading Level 3+ support and complex troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS (Oracle) and SQL.
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and pipelines (Jenkins/TeamCity).
• Strong problem-solving and design skills with industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy high-quality data solutions with comprehensive test coverage.
• Lead and troubleshoot Level 3 support activities.
• Estimate development effort for new features and deliver within timelines.
• Mentor team members and promote best-practice patterns.
• Work with AWS Cloud, REST APIs, and message queues (MQs).
• Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end ETL/data integration solutions.
• Contribute to production operations and DevOps practices.
